Vanilla Frosting

Vanilla Frosting can be wonderfully light and sickly sweet. So it’s a bit tricky to make sure you just get that right amount of sweetness without overwhelming the base. I like to keep my frostings light, but with just enough flavour to make you want more on whatever you are slathering it on.

Here is a very simple Vanilla Frosting recipe I have. The 3 most basic ingredients, mix it all up and it’s ready.

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cup icing sugar
6 tbsp butter (room temperature)
2 tbsp milk

Directions:
  1. Sift the icing sugar so you can get rid of any lumps
  2. Add butter and mix together, it will start looking very lumpy
  3. Add milk 1 tbsp at a time until it forms the desired consistency
Note: Add more milk to make it runny, and more sugar if it becomes too runny. Milk will help you achieve the best consistency but make sure to add very little at a time.
